HOW TO APPLY FOR MIT SCHOLARSHIPS (UNDERGRADUATES)

Applying to MIT scholarships is pretty straightforward for international students. International students are not eligible for federal aid, so they would not need to fill out FAFSA. However, they are eligible for institutional scholarships, so they would need to fill out the CSS Profile.

MIT SCHOLARSHIPS (MASTER’S AND PHD)

For undergraduate students, financial aid is very centralized for all departments. However, financial aid is awarded by individual departments for graduate students. Therefore, the application and the financial aid documents differ from each department. In this section, I will do my best to break down the application procedure for graduate international students.

MIT Scholarships are limited for Master’s students, but there are still many opportunities for Master’s students such as the teaching assistantships, research assistantships, and fellowships. For PhD students, it is very common for them to receive MIT scholarships that give full tuition, stipend, and health insurance for all their years in this school.

Fellowships 

Graduate students will be eligible for fellowships awarded by either individual departments or external organizations. Students who are admitted to the programs will be notified of any fellowship opportunities or receive fellowships in their financial package.

HOW TO APPLY TO MIT (GRADUATE)

As stated earlier, graduate admission procedure for each department is different from undergraduate admissions. However, there are some common aspects that can be found in the applications for different departments. This section will explain the common aspects.

HOW TO APPLY FOR HARVARD UNIVERSITY ADMISSION (MASTER’S, PHD)

Applying for admissions as international students is essentially same as applying as a domestic student with few exceptions such as the language proficiency exam. In this section, I will list all the necessary documents and procedures for applying to Harvard University as an international student.

NECESSARY DOCUMENTS

• Online application form and application fee of $105
• Uploaded transcripts to the online application
• Three letters of recommendation
• Statement of Purpose
• GRE (Graduate Record Examination)
• Demonstration of English Proficiency for international students (TOEFL of 80)
• Writing sample where required

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

• Start the online application. Students need to go to the appropriate graduate school of Harvard and start an online application (Ex. Graduate School of Engineering for engineering majors, etc.)
• Upload your transcripts form to the online application
• Confirm the 3 faculty members for the recommendations
• Write a statement of purpose. This should convey your interest, academic qualification, and your goals in the graduate program.
• Take a Graduate Record Examination (GRE). GRE which is a standardized test for graduate programs is required for all programs except Astronomy.
• Take an English Proficiency Exam. International students are required to take the TOEFL and score at least a score of 80. Some programs will require higher scores.
• Submit the application when all the application form and the required materials are filled.

HOW TO APPLY FOR HARVARD UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS (PHD)

All admitted PhD students are eligible to receive scholarships. ADMISSION DATES TO RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2019.

The application for both Master’s and PhD program opens in September. However, the admission deadlines differ for a different area of study. The most common application deadlines are December 1, December 15, or January 2 to receive scholarships in 2019. Check with the department of your field of study for specific deadlines for your field of study

• Find the official Fulbright website for your country.
• Check to see if you are eligible.

• Scholarship Award- Tuition, fees, room, board, books, supplies, instruction materials, health insurance, transportation, personal expenses
• Short Description- Knight-Hennessy Scholarships is awarded by Stanford University. Every year, it awards scholarships to 100 domestic and international students to study in any department basically for free. University Of Alabama Scholarship

• Degree Program- Undergraduate
• Scholarship Award- Tuition, partial coverage of room and board for engineering students
• Short Description- University of Alabama is a flagship university for the state of Alabama. It was founded in 1831 with the purpose of education the citizens of the state.

It offers excellent education in the field of engineering and accounting especially. This university is unique because it offers scholarships for international students which is uncommon for state universities. HOW TO APPLY FOR ALABAMA UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS

To be eligible for these scholarships, you will need to have a SAT or ACT scores which are college entrance exams in USA. Everyone with 33 ACT or higher and 1490 SAT or higher will receive almost full tuition scholarship and addition $2,500 a year if you are majoring in engineering.

It is bent on helping the talented low-income minority students with no loans involved. Therefore, it is a perfect fit in which you can look for the best scholarships for African Americans. The requirement for applicants is that you should have a GPA totaling to 3.3.
